Lotus Announces Partnership for Video Optimization and Delivery with Ramp
We are proud to talk about our partnership with Ramp, who provide Universal eCDN (Multicast, Caching, Peer-to-peer) for video optimization and delivery. They also integrate with Microsoft Teams Live Events and other platforms to ensure that large-scale internal video conferences run smoothly without impacting the corporate network. The company started with the goal of helping other companies stream the highest quality video with the lowest bandwidth requirements. They continue to expand solution capabilities and help organizations around the world to seamlessly deliver live video and VOD securely to any location on the corporate network.
Since September/21 we have been using a service platform as a solution for one of our customers. We use software that optimizes the client's internal network when they make use of live events in Microsoft Teams. This solution will have the ability to handle their 41,485 employees when they return to their offices and continue to use live video as a key communication element throughout the company.
To show how this solution works, here is a simplified explanation: An employee, when holding a corporate meeting using the internal network, generates a lot of data traffic (broadband). The software used is configured in Microsoft Teams so that users can share information among themselves (P2P), reducing the use of data traffic from the internal network. This is just one of the ways. There is the possibility to do it through Cache (temporary server), downloading the live video. In this case, end users do not need to download directly from the source, because they can do it through the nearest server.
This type of solution has integration with other platforms besides Microsoft Teams.
